Brighton Youth Association Football League

The scholarship program offered by BYAFL is an important part of our organizations goal of providing a quality Football experience for all that wish to play, even when financial situations make paying fees difficult.

Each season, pending financing and with board approval, BYAFL allots a designated amount of scholarship awards which are intended to sponsor players in need of financial assistance. The award will be used to cover standard registration fees only.

Criteria used to evaluate and ultimately assign scholarship funds will be based off of provided financial information and info provided during registration for said scholarship. Both are required to be considered eligible for and ultimately awarded the funds. When all requested information has been submitted, the Brighton Youth Assoc. Football League Board of Directors will review the completed application and data submissions on behalf of the requesting family. Once a decision is made, all applicants requesting scholarship will be notified.
All information submitted in the process of applying for scholarship will be held in strict confidence by the BYAFL Board and will be used only in the decision process for the scholarship award. Information submitted will ultimately be destroyed at a future date unless requested in writing by the submitting family for return.

We ask that the parent(s) or guardian of the player make a commitment for their child to attend all practices and games and they provide or arrange timely personal transportation for the player. BYAFL staff consists of volunteers who have necessary obligations outside of football, as you do, therefore getting your children to and from league functions on time is very important. Additionally, scholarship families may also be required to volunteer time for the season. Refusal to do volunteer work as requested, can and will result in the scholarship and any future playing opportunities to be forfeited.
